REDUCE

  • Stop that junk mail! Each year hundreds of tonnes of junk mail is thrown away and we didn’t even ask for it in the first place. To stop receiving junk mail register with the Mailing Preference Service DMA House 70 Margaret Street London W1W 8SS, visit them at www.mpsonline.org.uk or Tel: 0845 7034599
  • In Lancashire we throw away 4.5 double-decker bus loads of disposable nappies EVERY DAY. These will take over 500 years to decompose. Try using modern day re-useable or real nappies for environmental and financial benefits. More information is available from Lancashire County Council’s Bottom Line Nappy Project on 0845 0500 097
  • Reduce the number of plastic bags you use when shopping by taking old carrier bags or a Bag for Life with you.
